Question – Have You Ever Had a ‘Musically Triggered Book Related Memory’?

While reading JR Ward’s “Lover Mine”‘, I heard ‘Perfect’ by Kick Ass Canadian band Headly. While listening to it, I couldn’t stop thinking about Xhex and our beloved John Matthew!  Even now, every time I hear this song, I think of Lover Mine!  (Good memories I assure you, for that book is Awesome!)

That leads me to my Question:  Have you ever had a ‘musically triggered book related memory’?  Is there a song that made / makes  you think of a book or a character that you’ve read?

p.s.  Speaking of JR Ward, she has released the title of ‘The Black Dagger Brotherhood #9’.  “Lover Unleashed“, Payne and Manny’s book, is due out in 2011.

  1. Hi Julie! As a matter of fact I have. It usually happens with hard hitting rock songs by bands like Red and Avenged Sevenfold. It’ll remind me of different fight scenes (surprise surprise) I’ve read in different books.

  2. ok….where have i been that i havent heard that song?? Its soooo great and perfect for JM and Xhex!!

  3. Jen, you have a great point. Fight scenes seem to belong with heavy rock music! You can’t really imagine Cat duking it out with Max to a Sarah McLachlan track! lol

  4. Hmmm…music triggers a lot but I don’t know if I relate them to books per say. That is a good song though 🙂

  5. LOL! Not unless it’s a pillow fight.

  6. LOL, I do have songs that make me think of fictional couples. Can’t help it, I’m just a book nerd that way 🙂

Lover Unleashed, huh? Looking forward to reading it!
