Question – Are You Going To Author After Dark 2012?

Are you going to Authors After Dark 2012?
What are you most looking forward to?

I AM going to Authors After Dark 2012 (AAD2012) and I am most looking forward to meeting my online friends who are going and meeting all the wonderful authors too!  I have been chosen as an ‘official blogger’ for the event which means I get to interview 30 of the authors who will be attending AAD2012 so I also can’t wait to actually meet those authors in particular.

Now, speaking of AAD2012 and being an ‘official blogger’ and all, I thought this would be a good time to explain what exactly being an ‘official blogger’ means for this blog.  Basically, I want to explain what you will be seeing here at Yummy Men & Kick Ass Chicks starting this week until early August.

Every Monday you will notice a new widget on my sidebar.  It is my new “AAD2012 Featured Author” widget.  It is there to give you a heads up on who my special-guest author will be and to get you excited about the interview I will be posting that week.  Every Wednesday, I will be posting my interview with that featured author.  My first interview is Wednesday January 4th and as of now, my final interview is scheduled to post on Wednesday July 25th.

I am super excited about these interviews.  Other than the last two or three questions, every author will be asked the same questions.  I find that way you can get a good feel for the author.  You can go back and forth and compare their answers and I think it will give the author’s personalities more room to shine.  Most of my questions are about the authors themselves and AAD.  Yes, of course, we talk about their latest works too, but I wanted my interviews to focus mainly on the person behind the author (if that makes any sense lol).  After all, AAD is about bringing authors and readers together in a fun and casual setting (which just happens to be New Orleans this year).    We are already familiar with the author’s works but we are not always familiar with the author herself.  After reading the interviews every Wednesday, I am hoping that will change.

I am very much looking forward to seeing what you guys think of these interviews and I am hoping to meet many of you at AAD2012.  I’ll be the one with the word “Ass” on my badge (as the lovely Jen likes to point out…while giggling hysterically)

I will be there!! Can’t wait to meet you. I am most looking forward to getting a taste of New Orleans from the perspective of different authors. And seeing some of my tweeps again. And meeting authors I didn’t meet last year!!

I like your organization of your author spotlights. Mine each vary and are all over the place. I wish I’d been more organized. But it works!

    Happy New Year!!

  2. I’ll be there, too! And I can’t wait to meet all my online friends as well : ) I’m so jealous that you got chosen as an official blogger, and will be reading each and everyone of your updates.

  3. *flails hand in air like 3rd grader* Me! Oh me! I’ll be there. This is my first con & I’m so excited to meet authors and bloggers and my group of US girls I chat with. It’s also my first time in New Orleans. So, all in all I’m super excited.

  4. I’ll be there too. Doing the author spotlights have introduced me to so many new authors. Being an official blogger has really been a great experience!

  5. I’m going! I’m really looking forward to meeting all my Twitter bookloving friends face to face and seeing New Orleans.

That sounds so organized and a lot of work. I don’t know how you bloggers do it!

    Looking forward to meeting everyone.

  6. I’ll be in NOLA searching for some hot bartender to show me a good time 😛

  7. I’ll be there!! YAY! I’m just worry because I think my roommate snores…
I can’t wait to meet all my bloggers/Twitter friends and the AUTHORS omg, the authors!! First ever con for me 🙂
And of course I want beignets and Chicory coffee!! I know I’ll need lots of chicory coffee after the sleepless nights thanks to the snores…. 😉
    I can’t wait.

  8. I would love to go, but will not be able to. Just have to live through all of you that can!

  9. twimom227 – It must be so neat to know that you are going to see some of the same people as last year’s AAD. And I can’t wait to finally meet you too Jen! 🙂

Obscured Vixen – I have received a few of my interviews back and I am LOVING the answers the authors are giving me!

CdnMrs – We’ll be NOLA newbies together. Woot! Canadian bloggers invade AAD! LOL

Jen – The main reason I wanted to do the spotlights was to get to know more authors before arriving in NOLA. I can’t wait to get my spotlights started.

Eva – It’s going to be almost strange actually meeting people you chat with almost every day. lol

Katie – You are going?! Yay!!!

BookaholicCat – Your roomie doesn’t snore. But she may decide to put M&Ms in your bed while you sleep so you’ll wake up covered in melted sticky goo. Just sayin’… 😉

Lexi – AAD is on every year around the same time. It just changes cities each time. You could try to catch another one at a future date. *fingers crossed for you*

  10. I’m so there. I’m most looking forward to meeting my online peeps for sure. I’m also excited about the city tours hosted by some of the authors. Woot woot!

  11. I would love to go, but it is just too expensive to come all the way from Holland. But someday I will visit America and one of the great conventions. Till that time, I love reading your posts, seeing your photograps and the pics of all that lovely swag you will be getting! Enjoy yourself!

  12. Oh, Julie, I’ll be there, too, and we can giggle our way up and down bourbon street!! (Also, cemetery tour is soooo in order.)

  13. Oh my God Julie! So excited your coming!!! I’ll get to met a lot you guys! I can’t wait, I’m going to Kresley’s book signing in New Orleans on the 13, that’s gonna be fun too.

  14. I’ve never heard of AAD! Sounds fun! I’m excited to see all your posts and hear from some great authors. Congrats on being an official blogger!
