Question – What Are Your Top Three Most Anticipated Books of 2012?

This Question should be easy.  Really, this Question SHOULD be easy.  But surprisingly it’s not.

I came into writing this post with the idea that I would (easily) name my top 3 most anticipated books for 2012.  I started looking at my release-day list and holy-moly there are TONS of GREAT books coming out in 2012!  How on earth can I expect myself to only pick 3?!  And when I would finally settle on three, I would feel bad that certain others weren’t mentioned!  It’s almost like I was worried about hurting a book’s feelings!  Gah!

So after much debate with myself and my must-read list, here are my top three most anticipated reads of 2012:

Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett – releasing April 24th 2012.
My second favorite read of 2011 was book one in this series.  I loved everything about it:  the story, the characters, the world, the characters…  I am salivating over this one as I can’t wait to see where the story takes us next.

Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost – releasing June 26th 2012.
The first Night Huntress book is still by far my most favorite of that series.  I love how Jeaniene writes Cat & Bones’ first weeks together and how they find their HEA.  I adore Vlad’s character and when I heard that he was getting at least two books of his own, I was super excited.  I can’t wait to read this first book in his Night Prince series and to witness him meeting the love of his life.

Magic For A Price by Devon Monk – releasing Fall 2012.
The ninth and final installment in Devon’s Allie Beckstrom series.  I have really enjoyed these books.  The last two have been just incredible and I can’t wait to see how she decides to wrap this series up.  A ways to wait for this one though – book eight, Magic Without Mercy, releases first on April 3rd 2012.

So there you have it.  Yes, there are many many many many MANY more books that I could easily add to this list but those are the three I decided to go with…for now.  😉

And what about you?  What are your top three most anticipated books of 2012?

  1. 1. Captivated by Lauren Dane. This is the conclusion to the series and with every snippet I can’t wait!

    2. Lover Reborn by J.R. Ward. I’m gonna need a kleenex but I want Tohr to have his HEA after what he’s been through.

    3. Lucky in Love by Jill Shalvis. I really know nothing of these characters but I fell so in love with the first 3 books that I can’t wait for more of the townies to get their stories. The town is a character on it’s own.

I also cant wait for Vlad’s book. Should be awesome.

  2. ONLY THREE? If I have to narrow down…

DARKER AFTER MIDNIGHT by Lara Adrian (Jan 2012)
THE DARKEST SEDUCTION by Gena Showalter (Feb 2012)
LOVER REBORN by JR Ward (March 2012)

  3. Once Burned – Jeaniene Frost
    Timeless – Gail Carringer
    Gunmetal Magic – Ilona Andrews

  4. WOT13 by RJ and Brandon Sanderson. It was meant to be out Nov11, then March 12 and now Nov 12, sigh.

The New Charlie Madigan book and Timeless 🙂

  5. Looks like Twimom and I share the same brain because we want the same books. Lover Reborn for the win!!

Also the sequel to Shatter Me. Dying to get my hands on that one. Already read Sacrificial Magic and it’s Stacia’s best.

  6. I’m adding a fourth because I really REALLY want to read the next Alpha/Omega book (Fair Games) by Patricia Briggs)

  7. I’m looking forward to the next in the Jane True series (Nicole Peeler), Toby Daye series (Seanan McGuire), and Kara Gillian series (Diana Rowland). Actually, I just bought the latest Diana Rowland, but I’m saving it until I plow through the stack of library books I have out. I’m disappointed this one hasn’t received much blogger attention because it’s fantastic.

I’m going to cheat here and say that I also have two new books that I’m looking forward to. Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire and Royal Street by Suzanne Johnson. I’m counting on those two to re-energize my UF reading slump.

  8. Royal Street by Suzanne Johnson
A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison
A Sliver of Shadow by Allison Pang

It’s hard to just list three!!!

  9. Michelle – Lover Reborn was way up there for me. It was actually in my top three a few times…until I replaced it. Really, this was a tough choice. LOL

twimom – Darker After Midnight is AMAZING! You’ll love it!

CdnMrs – Gunmetal Magic is up there too. Gah…so many to pick from! lol And I have the Alpha/Omega books but have yet to read them…

blodeuedd – Timeless is on a few people’s list.

Katie – I want to read Stacia’s book! lol

Sara – I have heard wonderful things about the Kara Gillian series. I really have to give it a try.

Roger Simmons – Yes! to A Sliver of Shadow. It was close to making it in my top 3. It was there a few times but then got replaced. lol

  10. Lover Reborn/Ward

Lethal Rider/Ione (I want that book like crack!)

    The Duke’s Perfect Wife/Ashley

  11. I don’t know that I can pick only 3.
    1. A Perfect Blood – The Hollows is my fave series ever.
    2. Endgame – The finale of the Sirantha Jax series!
    3. Iced – Although I am craving more Fever books, I’m really not sure I’ll like these new ones. Either way, if it gets some Barrons in my life I’ll take it.

  12. Just 3 for 2012? That’s impossible. I give you my 3 of the first 3 months:

    – Heir of Novron by Michael J Sullivan
    – A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison
    – Sacrificial Magic by Stacia Kane

  13. I’m such a “Vampires In America” groupie that I can’t wait for :
    1. DB Reynolds, Vignettes
    2. DB Reynolds, LUCAS
And I’m also a Lara Adrian Groupie so it has to be
    3. DARKER AFTER MIDNIGHT

  14. That really is a difficult question, my list is 2 pages long! So I am going to cheat a little:
everything by Christine Feehan, Yasmine Galenorn and Sabrina Jeffries.

  15. Lol I think I will have quite the same books…

Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett
Magic Without Mercy by Devon Monk
    Grave memories by Kalayna Price

  16. One of mine is also Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost. My other two are by Gena Showalter – The Darkest Seduction (Paris’ Story) and Wicked Nights (Zacharel’s Story). There are a lot of good books coming out this year…thank goodness I haven’t had enough time to catch up with many series. 😛

  17. Hmmm…there are so many I can’t wait to get my hands on & narrowing it down to only 3 is virtually impossible, so these are my top choices whittled down as much as possible:

    Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews
    Iced by Karen Marie Moning
City of Lost Souls (& the next in in the Clockwork series) by Cassandra Clare
    Biting Cold by Chloe Neil
Out for Blood by Kristen Painter (if you haven’t read this series, it is a MUST!)
    Polterheist by Laura Resnick
Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones
    Black Howl by Christina Henry
    Grave Memory by Kalayna Price

I know, I know– WAY more than 3, but all of the above are, in my estimation, the best of the best, and have had me jumping up & down in anticipation since I finished the last book in each series!

  18. Oops…forgot one very important one–

    Tempest’s Fury by Nicole Peeler

  19. So I know this is going to sound crazy but, I’m most excited about…

    1. Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
    2. Outpost by Ann Aguirre
    3. Passenger by Andrew Smith

Can you believe they’re all YAs?! I told you it was going to sound crazy. 😉

  20. Yikes, your anticipated books look so far away. Oh, the agony. Poor you.

    My top three are:

    1. Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt. July 1st **ugh…too too far away**

    2. The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter. Feb 28th **Paris’s story, FINALLY!**

    3. A Lady Never Surrenders by Sabrina Jeffries. Jan 24th **only a couple days to wait. whew**

I just noticed, all my can’t wait stories are part of a series. Looks like your can’t waits are series books too. I think there’s definitely something to that!

  21. I can’t pick just three! Here are mine:

    1. Iced by Karen Marie Moning,
    2. Alien Diplomacy by Gini Koch
    3. Insurgent by Veronica Roth
    4. Wishful Thinking by Gabi Stevens
    5. Deep Dark Secret by Sierra Dean (Desmond!!)

  22. amy – Yes to Lethal Rider! Great choice. 🙂

Erin – I know what you mean about Iced. I am very curious about them, and I really hope I like them, but at least we’ll get our Barrons fix. 😉

BookaholicCat – Sacrificial Magic is definitely up there. I really have to read Kim Harrison’s books…

Dot – Apparently I’m missing out by not reading DB Reynolds. 😉

aurian – I like how you cheat. lol

melliane – I haven’t read the Kalayna Price books. I must check them out. 🙂

Deanna – I love you much in love you are with Gena’s stuff. 🙂

Michele – Gunmetal Magic is definitely up there for me. It was in my top three a few times while I was writing out this post. The rest of your list is great too. 🙂

Jen – YA?! What happened to you? Kidding. I’ve heard great things about the series you’ve mentioned…even if they are YA. 😉

Linda – The longer the wait, the more the anticipation builds, right? Which can be a good thing or a bad thing as it builds up expectations as well. lol And you are SO right about the series part. I think it’s more likely to anticipate series books because we are already sucked into their world and need more. 🙂

    Collette – Desmond! 😉

  23. Anything by:
    Ilona Andrews
    Lindsay Buroker
    Keri Arthur

  24. Oh yes, they’re really nice, this series is amazing. I hope you’ll like them if you give them a try.
