News – A Couple of Covers

There are a couple of covers that I want to share with you guys.  The first has been floating around the blogosphere this week and the second I just happen to stumble on so I’m not really sure when it was released.  Okay, that’s a lie.  After seeing it on GR I did look on the author’s blog and found that she showed it off April 24th so yes, I am a bit behind on the caboose or whatever the expression is.

The first one is for Larissa Ione’s fourth and final installment in her Lords of Deliverance series, Rogue Rider, which is due to release November 20th 2012.  I am including the blurb but I’m making it invisible because book three isn’t released yet and holy jumpin’ this blurb is full of spoilers from that book!  So if you want to read it, just highlight the screen and the writing will magically appear.

The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues – and falls for – a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he’s also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian’s life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian’s neighbours are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he’s putting Jillian in danger. And once it’s revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

I can’t wait for this book. Heck, I can’t wait for book three which comes out June 1st!

Next up is the ‘mostly final’ cover for the second book in Maria V Snyder’s Healer series, Scent of Magic.  I really enjoyed the first book and am looking forward to this one.  And the covers for this series are just so gosh darn pretty!

As the last Healer in the Fifteen Realms, Avery of Kazan is in a unique position: in the minds of her friends and foes alike, she no longer exists. Despite her need to prevent the megalomanical King Tohon from winning control of the Realms, Avery is also determined to find her sister and repair their estrangement. And she must do it alone, as Kerrick, her partner and sole confident, returns to Alga to summon his country into battle.

Though she should be in hiding, Avery will do whatever she can to support Tohon’s opponents. Including infiltrating a holy army, evading magic sniffers, teaching forest skills to soldiers and figuring out how to stop Tohon’s most horrible creations yet; an army of the walking dead – human and animal alike and nearly impossible to defeat.

War is coming and Avery is alone. Unless she figures out how to do the impossible … again.

Scent of Magic has no set release date yet.  All we know is that it’s aiming for an early 2013 release.

Happy Weekend!

  1. Nice covers 🙂 did you miss the new Kresley Cole one?

  2. First time I see them, thank you for sharing. 😉

  3. I’m currently reading Demonica by Larissa Ione. Is the serie Lord Of Deliverance in the same background?
Thanks for the covers Julie, I haven’t seen them yet on the net. 🙂

  4. aurian – I did see the new KC one and I will be checking out that series! It was released after I had this post scheduled and didn’t take the time to update my post. lol

    BookaholicCat – 🙂

Zendastark – The Lords books take place in the same world but are completely different. You will sort of meet one of the Horsemen in the fifth Demonica book and some of the Demonica characters make appearances in the Lords book but really, they are two very different series yet equally awesome. 🙂

  5. I’m so excited for Lethal Rider and Rogue Rider!! I foresee a dirty house and burned dinners in my family’s future. LOL

  6. Thank you Julie for your answer! 🙂
I read the first Demonica and I liked it. I’m not yet a fan of the serie but I’ll read the next one.
