From Goodreads -
There are things in bassist Jace Seymour’s past that he is unwilling to share with anyone. To cover his guilt and anguish, he seeks dominatrix Mistress V (Aggie) to temporarily placate his inner turmoil. Aggie doesn’t have much use for men–besides the power rush she gets when they’re begging for mercy at her feet–but Jace isn’t like her usual clients. His cool defiance and unexpected dominance in the bedroom drives her to distraction and quickly steals her heart. When circumstances threaten Jace’s position in Sinners, Aggie must help him regain his rightful place in the band while showing him that time and love can heal all wounds.

Hot Ticket is the fourth book released in Olivia Cunning’s Sinners on Tour series but really, it’s the third book if you are looking for reading order.  This is Jace’s book, the band’s bassist.  I have loved Jace since the very first book.  There is just something about his quiet demeanor, his shy personality.  He just seems like such a sweetheart!  Then you learn that he is a pleasure Dom and my oh my, your curiosity about this boy shoots through the roof!  By the end of Sed’s book (the second book in the series) I was dying for Jace’s story and finally we have it.  Let me tell you, he did not disappoint.  He is a lot more tortured than I imagined.  The poor man needed lots and lots of hugs and I was more than happy to imagine myself giving them to him.  Over and over and over.  *grin* All of his mysteries are explained and Jace is mostly “healed” by the end of Hot Ticket.  Of course, much to my dismay, the main reason he is better now is not thanks to me and my many imagined hugs but thanks to Aggie, Jace’s HEA.

Jace had a very hard childhood.  And I mean bad.  He has never been shown tenderness which is why he doesn’t recognize it even though it surrounds him in present day.  When I started this book, I was surprised that being disciplined by a domme is something Jace needs to enjoy…well, you know.  But the more I read about him, the more it all made sense.  Yes, this would be one of the many instances where I wanted to hug him.  He truly feels like as though he is undeserving of any affection or positive attention.  Aggie helps heal his soul and helps him to see that maybe he does deserve the good things that come to him.

I thought Olivia did a fantastic job with Aggie.  She really is the perfect match for Jace.  She is a very strong personality, which is needed for her profession as a domme, but there is such a tender side to her.  She understands Jace completely and pushes him just enough.  She wanted what was ultimately best for Jace so even though she really was the one giving him all the hugs, I couldn’t dislike her because she is wonderful for him.

Of course we see quite a bit of the other members of the Sinners and for me, that is always a treat.  I love how Olivia writes each and every one of them.  They are an absolute hoot to read.  Hot Ticket occurs during book two as well as after so even though you could read this book alone and enjoy it, you really wouldn’t get as much out of it.  You would miss so much character development.  I believe it’s worth reading the books in order.  If you like super steamy sexy books with strong characters, you’ll love these books.

I won’t bother going into detail about the band mates except for Eric.  Eric!  Oh my goodness he impressed me in this book!  I have to tell you that he was my least favorite member of the Sinners.  He just seemed so…annoying and immature!  But some of that is explained in Hot Ticket and it put a whole new spin on him for me.  On top of that, we learn why Jace looks up to him so much and we see how incredibly talented Eric truly is.  All that makes me like him a whole lot and makes me really anxious for his book.  I can’t wait until Wicked Beat comes out in September 2013.

Jon.  I want him to go away.  He is an absolute d*ck.   #thatisall

The story this time around is mostly about Jace, his dealing with his past and his dealing with Aggie and how she fits into his life.  Yes, there is drama.  Of course there is drama.  But it adds to the story as opposed to being the story.

And yes, as I mentioned earlier, this series is super hot and sexy and this book is no exception.  Just imagine, you have a domme and a dom and a rock band and a voyeur and…  Yeah…you can imagine how hot this book is.

All in all, I loved this book!  I loved finally seeing what made Jace tick and it made me happy to see that my little crush on him, my ‘affection’, was not wasted on an undeserving guy.  Aggie is an absolute joy to read as are the rest of the characters.  Each and every one of them.  If you are into hot smut, you really much check this series out.  It’s not just about sex.  It’s about characters you care about, witty and heartfelt dialogue and hot sex.

Giggle worthy quote

“’You really need to find yourself a woman,’ she said.  ‘Preferably a porn star.’

‘I’d rather share you with little man.’

‘Not sure why we let you participate,’ Jace grumbled.  ‘I satisfy her better on my own.’

Eric flopped down on the bed beside Jace.  ‘Because I’m your best buddy, and you don’t want me to die from a giant case of blue balls?’

‘I don’t think that’s fatal,’ Aggie said.

‘Have you ever even had blue balls?’ Eric asked.

She grinned and flipped her gaze to the ceiling.  ‘Well…’

‘They’re not just for Smurfs.’

Jace laughed and reached up to tug Aggie down against his chest to cuddle her against him.  ‘Wouldn’t that be a constant condition for them?’

‘Poor little guys,’ Eric said with a troubled scowl.

‘That probably has more to do with them only having one female in their species, more than their skin color,’ Jace said.

Eric laughed.

‘I bet Smurfette gets a lot of UTIs,’ Aggie said.”

  1. After reading not very favorable reviews I decided to skip Rock Hard and was waiting for the release of this book, but to my great surprise the fifth book was release before third book. o_0 After reading reviews in which people were a bit lost because of backstory missing thanks to skipping two books! I decided not to read Double Play and gave up on this series; but now after reading this review you are making me reconsider my decision…

  2. Awesome!!! I can’t wait to get my ears on this one, I read the first 2 books and I loved them, but the reviews haven’t been to kind for the third book, so glad to hear that I can jump right to this one…YAY!

  3. Bookaholic Cat – I think you would be okay if you went from book one to this one. I would wait to read the last book until you read the next one. I still don’t understand why the pub published the last book third. Well, I do know but it’s not for sharing in the comments ;)

Lupdilup – I strongly recommend reading the books in the order they were intended and not the order they were published. Start with Brian’s book then Sed’s then Jace’s. Eric’s is coming before the end of the year so wait for that one before you listen to Trey’s book. Trey’s book was amazing but it really is best if you read it last. :)

  4. I really should read book 1

  5. blodeuedd – Yup ;)

  6. Now you have me excited for this next book! The series so far has been really great.
