Yummy Boy – Logan Quinn
From Goodreads –
I’m Logan Quinn, the deadliest Spartan warrior at Mythos Academy. At least I was–until the day I almost killed Gwen Frost.
Professor Metis and Nickamedes say that I’m fine, that Loki and the Reapers don’t have a hold on me anymore, but I can’t risk it. I can’t risk hurting Gwen again. So I’m leaving Mythos and going somewhere far, far away.
I know Gwen wonders what’s happening to me, whether I’m safe. I can’t tell her, but this is my story. . .
Logan Quinn. The name sets teenaged and adult hearts alike aflutter. He is a Spartan – yes, a real one – and Gwen’s (the main heroine in Jennifer Estep’s Mythos Academy series) love interest. *spoiler from the last book alert* In the last book, Logan was possessed by a crazy spirit of sort and almost killed a bunch of people he cared for. That sort of freaked him out so he decided to leave Mythos Academy to protect everyone there. You know, in case it would happen again.
The full-length books in this series are told from Gwen’s point of view but Spartan Frost is told from Logan’s perspective. I think this was a great idea. Finally we get to see what is going on in that head of his! To be honest though, I was expecting a bit more from Logan. I was hoping for a little more explanation behind why he left school but really, we got the whole story in the last book. But I suppose if that is the whole story there isn’t much else to say. It was nice to see how deep his feelings are for Gwen though. Seeing that from him was nice.
There was also a bit of a story in this book which, seeing how short this story is, I wasn’t expecting. Yes people, Jennifer actually managed to add a full story in this short book. This book also serves to let us know what is going to happening to Logan and where he will be going instead of Mythos. I am assuming/hoping he will end up back with Gwen and the gang but I guess only time will tell.
I really think fans of the Mythos Academy books will enjoy this quick tale. I am rating it what I am because I rate on re-readability and I feel as though even if I re-read the series some day, I won’t have to read Spartan Frost again. I feel I will remember what happened in this one rather easily. But I still think if you read this series you should read this story. After all, it’s all about Logan Quinn! *swoon*
