I know, I know.  You are probably all rubbing your eyes right about now and wondering if you are reading this right.  Yes, this is a News post!  I have been so stupidly busy lately I just haven’t had the time to do one of these but three pretty impressive things have come up lately and I thought I just had to share it with you guys.

First off is News from Jeaniene Frost.  Jeaniene announced a while back that now that she is finished with the Night Huntress books she is going to be focusing on a New Adult series called Realmwalker.  Recently we found out that the name of the series has been changed to Broken Destiny and that book one will be titled The Beautiful Ashes.

Here is the blurb:

In a world of shadows, anything is possible. Except escaping your fate.

Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse—her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who’s bound by an ancient legacy to betray her.

Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn’t mean he can change his fate…no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy. Together they search for the powerful relic that can save her sister, but Adrian knows what Ivy doesn’t: that every step brings Ivy closer to the truth about her own destiny, and a war that could doom the world. Sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side and Adrian on the other. And nothing but ashes in between…

I am not a New Adult reader but I think I’ll check this one out.  It sounds good!

Next up is Amanda Bonilla news.  She will be self-publishig the next installment in her Shaede Assassin series and now it has a stunning cover and a release date!  Check it out:

Six months can feel like a just couple of weeks when you’ve been away in another realm. Literally.

Now that Darian is back in Seattle, she’s ready to face the life—and the man—she left behind. But it’s not going to be easy when a ghost from her past shows up looking to wreak havoc on Seattle’s supernatural crime scene.

Darian isn’t as careless as she used to be, though. She and Tyler, her sexy Jinn protector, have come a long way in the trust department. And it’s a good thing too—because when Ty contracts her to assassinate a wickedly powerful supernatural who goes by the name of Mithras, it will take all her faith in Ty, and herself, to get the job done.

While Darian does whatever it takes to get to her mark, Xander, the Shaede King is busy making plans of his own. With Darian’s attention divided between Lorik’s secrets and her mission she might not be able to stop Xander from doing anything in his power to separate Darian from her sworn protector and in the process, destroy his own kingdom…

OMGOMGOMG!  Against the Dawn is due to release May 20th 2014.

Speaking of shiny new covers, Kevin Hearne shared one recently.  Heeeeeer’s Atticus!  (Oh, heads up… The blurb has some pretty massive spoilers from the last book so read with caution)

For nearly two thousand years, there was only one Druid left walking the Earth—Atticus O’Sullivan, the Iron Druid, whose sharp wit and sharp sword kept him alive while pursued by a pantheon of hostile deities. Now he’s got company.

Atticus’s apprentice Granuaile is at last a full Druid herself. What’s more, Atticus has defrosted an archdruid long ago frozen in time, a father figure (of sorts) who now goes by the modern equivalent of his old Irish name: Owen Kennedy.

And Owen has some catching up to do.

Atticus takes pleasure in the role reversal, as the student is now the teacher. Between busting Atticus’s chops and trying to fathom a cell phone, Owen must also learn English. For Atticus, the jury’s still out on whether the wily old coot will be an asset in the epic battle with Norse god Loki—or merely a pain in the arse.

But Atticus isn’t the only one with daddy issues. Granuaile faces a great challenge: to exorcise a sorcerer’s spirit that is possessing her father in India. Even with the help of the witch Laksha, Granuaile may be facing a crushing defeat.

As the trio of Druids deals with pestilence-spreading demons, bacon-loving yeti, fierce flying foxes, and frenzied Fae, they’re hoping that this time . . . three’s a charm.

Shattered will be the first Hard Cover installment of the series.  Love these books and can’t wait for this one.  It’s due to hit shelves June 17th 2014.

And finally some Larissa Ione, Lara Adrian and many others news.  Larissa and Lara announced in their latest newsletters that they, along with 10 other New York Times Bestselling Authors, will be taking part in a new and interesting venture in 2014.  Twelve novellas will be released, one a month, all inspired by The Arabian Nights: Tales from 1001 Nights.  Now I’m not saying we will get 12 stories about Aladdin – many authors will be using that theme as their backdrop but writing about familiar characters.  Lara explains:

In the original, Scheherazade desperately attempts to entertain her husband, the King of Persia, with nightly stories so that he will postpone her execution. My friends and I are taking a unique spin on the premise and creating all-new stories that a new Scheherazade might tell. Novellas that are sexy and romantic. Some paranormal, some erotic. All compelling and page turning.

Neat, eh?  Here is a list of authors involved and when they are due to release their stories:
Shayla Black – January 14th 2014
