News – A Glimpse of Darkness

I really should have blogged about this sooner, but…whatever.  Better late than never, right?!  lol

I heard about this project quite a while ago, but haven’t gotten around to reading it until this past week.  But even though it’s a little late and there is only one more chance to vote, it’s not too late to enjoy what the authors have written so far.  Let me explain.

“A Glimpse of Darkness” is a truly unique ‘book’.  They call it a multi-author, fan-driven chain-story.  Here’s how it worked.  It all started with Lara Adrian providing chapter 1.  Then the readers were given two options of how they would like to see the story to continue.  Then, with the winning idea in hand, Harry Connoley had less than three days to write chapter 2.  Next, it was Lucy A. Snyder’s turn to write chapter 3 according to what readers decided and then Kelly Meding was busy writing chapter 4 with the readers choice as guidance.  The voting has closed, and now we wait for Stacia Kane’s chapter 5 which will be posted early next week.  At the end of that chapter, there will be one last chance to vote.  Lara Adrian will be writing the story’s conclusion according to what is decided by the readers at the end of Stacia’s chapter.

The story is an Urban Fantasy tale about Munira, a Retriever who must steal The Light of Ta’lab from Soledad’s palace in Below in order to save her father.  The first four chapters have been quite good and even though the story has been written by four different authors so far, I find that it flows very well.  I’m giving it 4 stars (but that’s without having read the last chapters).  If you have a chance, check it out.

You can read chapter one written by Lara Adrian (author of the Midnight Breed series) here.
Chapter two written by Harry Connoly (author of the Twenty Palaces series) here.
Chapter three written by Lucy A. Snyder(author of the Jessie Shimmer series) here.
And chapter four written by Kelly Meding (author of the Dreg City series) here.

I’ll post the link for chapter five written by Stacia Kane (author of the Downside Ghosts series) once it is posted.  I’ll also post the link for the story’s conclusion by Lara Adrian when it goes up.

Happy Weekend!
